Timberly Sanding Mandrels 

An extremely handy addition to any turner's armoury, our mandrels are made with high grade materials and High technology Velcro which has 3 times the griping power of conventional hook and loop.

We use glues that are heat resistant so extending the life of your Mandrel.

Through trial and era and many hours spent at the lathe sanding I have found these now out last many of the oppositions systems.

Used in a drill on the lathe with the lathe running at 500rpm  you eradicate the radial lies caused by hand sanding and also have less likely hood of heat checking the timber.

It is however important to work through the grits, an increase of no more than 30% in grit size between sanding is recommended.

Sanding a platter is further improved by using a 100 or 125 Mandrel as this bridges the centre preventing that ugly depression from over sanding in the platters centre.
