The Buffer Rake is a new product for cleaning and conditioning your buffing wheels. It is comprised of a DelrinTM, toothed rake mounted on a hard maple handle.

Buffer rakes are common in the metal polishing industry where they usually consist of a wooden handle topped with metal teeth. They work well for metal polishing equipment, but since the steel teeth turn the buffs black after a few uses, they would discolor wood pieces and are unusable for polishing it.

The rake is most useful on the Tripoli Buff which, over time, can become caked and stiff with compound. In the past we have recommended using coarse sandpaper for cleaning, but the Buff Rake will do a better job and will rejuvenate your buff without coloring the wood.
