Astra Dot Sandpaper Velcro Backed Woodturner's Starter Kit

Sanding Kit includes:

• 1x 50mm sanding mandrel
• 1x 75mm sanding mandrel

I have been asked many times what I use for sanding to get the finish I do on my turning, so I have put together this selection to get you started.

I have been using Astra Dot papers to sand my wood turned crafts and carved artwork for a number of years. After rigorous tests against other papers on the market I have come to the conclusion that this is an excellent sandpaper which has long life, good bonding, works well with a wide variety of woods, and appears to have quite uniform particle size. 

The main feature of Astra Dot sandpaper is the backing which is incorporated as one piece to form a pre-determined pattern structure. This prevents loading, reduces heat generation, requires lighter sanding pressure, and gives longer sanding life. The Velcro doesn’t de-bond, unlike other papers where the backing will separate from the stuck-on sand paper with friction. This makes it a longer lasting sandpaper.

This product is ideal for the woodturner, wood carver, wood artist, panel beating, lathe worker or boat builder.

Sanding tip: It is important you don't miss any grits or time is wasted over sanding, heat checks develop and unnecessary wear on the paper occurs.
