Woodcut 10mm Handled 55 degree bottoming gouge (These will come pre-sharpened )
This grind enables you to rub the bevel all the way around the inside of a bowl ,because of the grid the handle does not hit the rim of the bowl causing a dig in as the tip comes of the bevel.
Two grinds are required to turn a bowl 35 for shaping and roughing out 55 for better control
The Woodcut Tools range of Bowl Gouges are designed by turners for turners. Unique with easily replaceable tips. This tool also always maintains a constant length of shaft , as the fully fluted chisels end up shorter as you grind the flute away over time as one sharpens the tool.
Rubbing the bevel with a sharp tool gives a clean polished finish in the hands of all turners.
The 35-degree grind is uniquely designed to ensure that the bevel of the gouge is in contact with the bowl from the top of the bowl until the transition to the bottom.
