#10301 All Round Carbide set includes our exclusive round profile tungsten carbide discs. It contains one of each blue extreme coarse, red coarse, yellow medium and garnet fine disc. They are extremely useful for creating or carving concave or convex shapes, (inward or outward contours) and deep hollows in vessels like spoons and bowls as well as detail work on animal or facial sculptures. You can use all these discs on their face or edge. All will remove, smooth, outline and shape wood safely and easily in a controlled manner in confined areas, but with different degrees of aggressiveness and finish.

•Blue extreme coarse disc removes and shapes material very swiftly, leaving a smooth but very coarse finish. It is the most aggressive so start your project with this ravenous beauty. 

•Red coarse disc removes and shapes material pretty darn quick, leaving a smooth but coarse surface finish. It has become our most popular all round disc.

•Yellow medium disc allows for the fast and effective removal of material, creating fine surfaces when working along or across the grain as well as on end grain. 

•Garnet fine disc with its closely configured carbide teeth ensures tear-free shaping of the wood, leaving the smoothest finish of the four discs.

When Tungsten and carbon unite they become Tungsten Carbide, one of the hardest of all carbides made. This very hard material is commonly used for the tips of tools, especially cutting tools and grinding tools. Tungsten carbide coated tools are extremely long-lasting, and can be used for sanding and the surface treatment of a wide range of materials. Carbide's long life and effective sanding qualities save time and improve results. Carbide is the name of a sintered metal (tungsten) - an extremely hard metal having approximately 98% of the hardness of an industrial diamond. The abrasive consists of grains of carbide of a particular size depending on the purpose, which are welded onto a steel base.
